UPDATE: My 2nd book about society is taking longer than I had expected because of 2 major reasons:

  1. I seem to have ironically gotten caught up in the very issue I am attempting to solve: The propensity to feel the need to focus on continuous work in order to make ends meet
  2. Designing a utopia is a LOT harder than I had anticipated, and there is a HUGE responsibility involved in the recommendations I am about to make that cannot simply be taken lightly. In contrast, curing cancer was easy and I consider that it is a non-issue for all intents and purposes and that the only ones still struggling with it are of two varieties; those who wish to use it as a marketing tool to take advantage of others, and those who are being taken advantage of.
Also, I hate to admit it, but there is a third minor issue which plagues me from time to time sadly: which is whether the human race deserves to receive my support and creative ideas, considering that it has taken so much from me (resulting in #1 above), and given back so little. It may turn out to be the case that the choice is not up to me, but rather humanity as a whole to drain me dry before I am able to resolve this quandry. Poetic justice I suppose. Very fitting.
